Whether you’ve been reading CapX for years or you’re discovering us for the first time, this is what we’re about.
CapX exists to make the case for popular capitalism: free markets, free people and free societies. Since 2014 we’ve published analysis, commentary and original journalism on economics, politics and policy – championing the ideas that underpin open, prosperous societies and subjecting bad ones to proper scrutiny.
For many of you, we’ve been landing in your inbox for a while now, and we’re not about to stop – we’re just moving home. From now on, The CapX Briefing lives on Substack.

Here’s what to expect:
📩 Monday–Friday: The CapX Briefing – arriving at the end of each day, a sharp digest of the ideas, arguments and stories that matter. Concise, opinionated and a perfect end-of-day read.
🎙️ Thursday mornings: A dedicated email about the latest episode of The Capitalist, our weekly podcast – so you can get a flavour of the conversation before you listen.
📖 Sunday: The editor’s pick of the week – one of our best pieces of the week, published in full, plus a selection of our other favourite reads from across the week.
Everything we send will always be free. But if you’d like to support our work, please take out a paid subscription – it goes directly towards keeping CapX independent and growing.
